St. Lucia Bed – Sculpted medallion with natural cane rattan. Inspired by the golden age of modernist escape.
A sculptural storage piece and architectural room divider—crafted in solid oak with sliding doors, reeded glass, and cantilevered shelving. The WHO cabinet brings clarity, order, and presence to any space. Its subtle form evokes the wisdom of the owl—quiet, composed, and timelessly modern.
The WHO cabinet is rooted in the structural purity of 1930s–1950s modernism. Planes intersect. Volumes float. Shelves cantilever. It is designed not only for function, but for form—to live against a wall or divide a space with equal grace.
Its name carries meaning. From the front, the paired circular cutouts form a minimalist, abstract owl face—a symbolic nod to perception, memory, and quiet intelligence. WHO is not just a name; it's a metaphor. A sculptural keeper of stories. A presence in the room. A dialogue between object and observer.
Now offered in two distinct finishes: all Modern Oak, or a bold two-tone combination where the upper hutch doors are painted in Ancient Forest—a deep olive lacquer reminiscent of mid-century palettes. This muted contrast adds a touch of modernist rhythm and color blocking, without sacrificing the cabinet’s calm presence.
With a fully finished back, the cabinet can float freely in space. The disks at the rear mimic the front’s motif, reinforcing the symmetry and layered subtlety. This piece invites not just storage—but reflection.
Solid Oak frame and body, finished in Modern Oak (Akzo Nobel lacquer)
Optional two-tone finish: Modern Oak with Ancient Forest lacquered doors on the upper hutch
Ancient Forest is a dark olive tone—a subtle nod to modernist color theory
Sliding doors throughout with routed finger pulls and smooth aluminum track operation
Tempered reeded glass on lower doors—architectural, light-diffusing, and visually discreet
Solid Mahogany used internally for cleats and construction details that ensure long-term durability
Engineered plywood panels to prevent bowing and splitting due to environmental shifts across the U.S.
Cantilevered center shelves bolted with machined industrial hardware—form meets permanence
Fully finished back panel with framed circular disk detail to mirror the front
The WHO cabinet is versatile—equal parts bookshelf, display, console, and divider. The top floating hutch offers closed storage behind four sliding doors. The open shelving in the center floats in space, designed for everything from books and ceramics to personal totems and objects of work. The base console, detailed with reeded glass and twin circular cutouts, offers generous concealed storage.
This is a statement piece that organizes without overwhelming. A modernist companion for studios, creative offices, entryways, or large living areas.
