I wanted to sleep in it awhile before I provided an honest review. I was under a tight timeline but got lucky and received it in time (although I had to reach out for a status update). It arrived in three boxes, no issue. I put it together myself (one person) and it wasn't too difficult. A few observations while putting it together. The headboard and footboard are held to the side rails by metal hooks and while sturdy, the bed can't hold its shape with these hooks (there are no bolts to the frame it's not really together at this stage). It's not until you screw the poplar slats into the raw wood of the frame that the beds holds itself together. This struck me as a bit odd that the slats are what holds the bed together and compared to other bed frames I've had. Second, it was a bit noisy getting in and out of bed and moving around at night. I have since added felt to the bottom of the feet which has improved, although not wholly eliminated the noise. It is a mostly solid wood frame so this could just be the sounds of a wood frame and I will get used to it. And finally - it's absolutely stunning. Beautiful wood grain, perfect coloring/stain (a bit darker than the photos but matched my vintage wood night stand perfectly), unique design, and excellent craftsmanship. No regrets.
Hello L R, we appreciate your candid review. As a note, our frame construction is solid Ash and the side rail construction is metal to metal which is an upgrade from the side bolt construction. We initially shipped our beds with the side bolt assembly for the side rails but many of our customers wanted an easier assembly. The side rails are only a small part of what holds your bed together. You'll need the slats and center support to tie together in order to have a solid assembly. As for the noise, It depends if you have tile or solid wood floor, carpet, etc. It may also vary depending on your US location due to dryness and humidity, the bed frame is solid Ash will adjust to your environment in a few weeks. New homes experience creaking during the first few months as the wood expands and shrinks. We put an enormous amount of effort in the quality and design of our furniture. Thank you again. MB
This is by far the nicest piece of furniture I have ever owned! The bed arrived flat-packed in 3 boxes and was surprisingly easy to put together. I put it together myself, but it's better as a 2 person job simply due to the sheer size and weight of the bed. The bed itself is seriously heirloom quality. I am normally on the fence about purchasing from Instagram ad sites, but this is the real deal. It's high quality and absolutely gorgeous!
